Split PDF by size

How to split

Add at least one page to create a file.

How to use

  1. Add a PDF file.
  2. Choose the maximum size of each file (for example 2 MB).
  3. Press “Split PDF”: each part holds as many consecutive pages as possible while the saved file stays under the limit.
  4. Download each file or a ZIP; file names show the page range of each part.

Current limits

  • Pages are not recompressed: a single page already larger than the limit becomes its own file, clearly marked as over the limit — compress the PDF first in that case.
  • Shared resources (such as fonts) are copied into every part, so the parts can add up to more than the original.
  • One PDF at a time.

Frequently asked questions

Why is one part still over the limit?

That part has a single page that is larger than the limit on its own — usually a high-resolution scan. Use “Compress PDF” first, then split again.

How is each part measured?

Each part is actually saved and measured by its real byte count, not estimated.

Does splitting reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied as they are, not recompressed or turned into images.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Splitting runs in your browser on your device.
