PDF to Word
Turn a PDF into a Word file you can keep editing: lines are joined back into paragraphs, with alignment, font sizes, bold/italic and images kept — no retyping.

Options
Each PDF page starts a new Word page. Untick to let text flow freely, easier to add or remove text.
JPEG images are kept as the original; others are saved as lossless PNG.
Converted right on your device — the file is not uploaded.
How to use
- Add a PDF with a text layer (exported from Word, a browser or an office app). Scans need OCR first.
- Keep “Keep page breaks as in the PDF” so each PDF page becomes a Word page; untick it to let text flow freely.
- Click “Convert to Word”. The result shows the paragraphs and images found and re-checks that all text is present.
- Download the .docx and open it in Word, LibreOffice, Google Docs or WPS to edit.
Current limits
- Ruled tables become Word tables (merged cells kept); tables without lines become lines kept in place with tabs. Lines outside tables, drawings and background colors are not converted.
- Scans and photos have no text layer: they are included as images only — run OCR first.
- Multi-column (newspaper-style) text keeps its position with tabs on each line; it does not flow by column.
- If a font from the PDF is missing on your device, a substitute is used and lines may wrap differently.
Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Reading the PDF and building the Word file happen in your browser, on your device; the file is not sent anywhere.
Will accented characters come out right?
Text is taken from the PDF’s Unicode text layer and written to Word with the original font names (such as Times New Roman or Arial). PDFs using legacy fonts without a Unicode mapping can produce wrong characters — use OCR in that case.
Why doesn’t the Word file look exactly like the PDF?
A PDF stores the position of every character, while Word lays out text by paragraph. The tool rebuilds paragraphs, alignment, spacing and page breaks close to the original; differences usually come from substitute fonts, drawings or unruled tables that are not converted.
Can a scanned PDF be converted to Word?
A scan is only an image, so it needs OCR first. After OCR the file has a text layer and converts to Word.
Is there a page limit?
There is no hard limit; longer files need more memory. Convert documents of several hundred pages on a computer.
