Add at least one page to create a file.

  • The stamp is an extra layer drawn on top of the page: it records the intended use, but someone with PDF editing software can still remove it.
  • Bookmarks and links in the document are kept; fillable forms, attachments and digital signatures are not.
  • The Be Vietnam Pro font (SIL OFL licence) is embedded, limited to the characters used.

How to use

  1. Add one or more PDF files.
  2. Choose the number style (1/5, “Page 1 of 5”, – 1 –), position, size and starting number.
  3. To skip the cover, choose “Don’t number the first page (cover)” or limit the page range (for example 2-).
  4. Check the preview on a real page, click “Add page numbers”, then download or continue with another tool.

Current limits

  • Numbers are added on top of existing content; if that spot already has text, choose another position.
  • Existing page numbers in the file are not detected: a file that is already numbered will show two numbers.
  • Digitally signed files: the signature is no longer valid after numbering.
  • Layout, page size and existing content are not changed.

Frequently asked questions

Can I skip the cover page?

Yes. Choose “Don’t number the first page (cover)”, or limit the page range (for example 2-) and choose the starting number.

Can the page numbers be copied and searched?

Yes. They are real text with an embedded font, not images.

Can I add a text watermark at the same time?

Yes. Turn on the text stamp section in this tool — both are added when the file is created.
