About

PDF Tool Plus (“tidy dossier” in Vietnamese) is a set of tools for getting files ready for online submissions: merge, split, organize and compress PDFs, convert images to PDF and back, convert and resize images, redact PDFs — and above all, prepare a whole document set with several groups, each with its own requirements, in one go.

Why it exists

Job applications, school applications and online government procedures share the same chores: photograph documents with a phone, rotate them upright, combine them into a PDF, compress to fit a limit, convert photos to JPG, name the files — then repeat for every kind of document. Separate tools force you to download and re-upload files again and again. PDF Tool Plus keeps these steps in one working session and lets you pass a result from one tool to another without uploading it again.

Principles

  • Processing happens on your device. Files are read and processed in your browser. The site’s server only delivers the web page itself; your documents are not uploaded.
  • No claims that cannot be checked. File size, page count and pixel dimensions are measured on the real output file. When a limit is not met, the result is labelled “Not met” with its real size, and you can still download it if you need to.
  • Originals stay untouched. Every operation creates a new file; originals in the session are never modified. PDFs are not turned into images unless you choose so.
  • Limits are stated. Each tool has a “Limits” section describing what it cannot do yet. Features still in development are marked as such.
  • No account needed. No sign-up or login.

Current limits

A session handles up to 20 files, 50 MB in total and 100 pages, so it runs reliably on ordinary phones. HEIC photos (iPhone) convert only in browsers with a built-in decoder (recent Safari). Text recognition (OCR) reads English, Spanish, French, Indonesian and Vietnamese. Word/Excel/PowerPoint to PDF is the only tool that sends a file to a server — only when that server is enabled and only after you agree.

Sample data

Images and example files shown on the site are samples with made-up details, not real documents of any person.
