How to split
Add at least one page to create a file.
How to use
- Add a PDF file.
- Choose how to split: selected pages, every page, evenly by page count, ranges such as 1-3, 4-6, or by file size (for example ≤ 2 MB per file for email).
- Press “Split PDF” and download each file or a ZIP.
Current limits
- One PDF per split.
- Pages are copied intact; links to pages that are not in the new file may stop working.
- Splitting by size does not recompress pages: a single page that is already over the limit becomes its own file and is clearly marked as not meeting the limit.
Frequently asked questions
Does splitting reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied as they are, without recompression or rasterising.
How do I type page ranges?
Use a hyphen for ranges and commas between them: 1-3, 5, 8-10. “7-” means from page 7 to the end.
How does splitting by size work?
PDF Tool Plus puts as many consecutive pages into each file as possible while the real file stays within the limit — every attempt is measured on the bytes of the saved file, not estimated. Resources shared by pages (such as fonts) are copied into each file, so the files together can be larger than the original.
