Tips for a clean result
- Put the paper on a background darker than the paper (wooden desk, dark folder).
- Show all 4 corners; let the paper fill most of the frame.
- Use good light; avoid hand shadows and glare.

Output requirements
Safe for portals that cannot read accented characters: scan.pdf
Keeps the aspect ratio and never crops content; pages are centred and turned portrait/landscape to match.
Advanced options
Pages turned into images lose selectable/searchable text. Off by default.
Add at least one page to create a file.
How to use
- Add photos of the pages (on a phone you can shoot straight from the camera).
- Each photo is checked for the paper edges, straightened and cleaned. Photos without a clear edge are kept as they are — press “Adjust corners” to pick the area yourself.
- Choose the clean-up (white paper, black & white, original colours); reorder or rotate pages if needed.
- Press “Create PDF” and download, or continue with Compress or OCR.
Current limits
- Automatic edge finding needs light paper on a darker background; if the background is close to the paper colour or the paper fills the frame, the photo is kept for you to adjust.
- Curved or creased paper is straightened by its 4 corners only; folds are not flattened.
- The PDF holds images; to make text searchable and copyable, continue with OCR.
Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Edge finding, straightening, clean-up and PDF creation all run in your browser on your device. This page shows no ads.
Why was a photo not cropped?
When the background is too similar to the paper, the paper runs off the frame or not all 4 corners show, the tool does not guess and keeps the photo. Press “Adjust corners” on it to drag the corners onto the paper.
Which clean-up should I pick?
“Document” whitens the paper and keeps text dark — best for printed paperwork. “Black & white” gives the smallest file. “Original colours” keeps photos and coloured stamps.
Is the original photo changed?
No. The straightened photo is a new image; the original stays in your file list.
